Rusty Yellow Orcs

I bought the core team for these guys second hand on ebay for a tenner. They were dark red and dry brushed silver. Pretty messy. I couldn’t be bothered removing the paint so I just dry brushed a load of white over them and started slapping speed paints on. I think it was while I was playing DnD. I wasn’t being at all precious, just getting paint on and seeing what contrast paints can do.

They started turning out better than I thought. Then I ended up buying the forge world extra positionals to supplement them. They cost way more than a tenner.

And then I wished I had stripped back the paint and actually reassembled them properly. One of the line orcs has a very strange leg joint.

However, from a distance they work great. On the table top it is VERY CLEAR where your players are and as a team they look pretty heavy metal grime.

The colour concept was JCB diggers.

I used them the first time I attended Monster Bash in Darlington in …. 2022 I think? My friend John borrowed them for a friendly tournament we ran. He faired better and had fun playing an orc passing game.

The blitzers Badlands Blitzers

The biguns JCB bigguns

The throwers JCB throwers

The Orc linemen JCB linemen

The Troll JCB troll This bruiser came with a goblin team bought second hand online. The other troll I gave away as a prize in a sevens tournment. No idea what range this is. He’s a metal troll.

The Mascot JCB linemen For the Monsterbash tournament, they allow teams to have a free mascot inducement if they have a painted miniature. This is a halfling with a lot of hurriedly applied green stuff on it to look like a ball. For a halfling who is a mascot for an orc team I think he looks suitably downbeat.
