Second team I won the league with and my second orc team
Stealing a name for a winning team
Yeah I totally stole Ian’s team name and idea. At some poitn I’ll doubtless steal (appropriate?) one of the best ever team naems ever ever, the Callous Drowboys. We shall see.
I played these guys for four seasons (I think) including a redraft. they are formidable. Losses and drawers tended to come down to very marginal critical dice, or a slight mistake. I did enjoy them though.
The full team
The blitzers
These guys were the scorers and high SPP core of the team. Blodging, ball stripping, mighty blow tackling all round bad guys. They were great.
The line orcs
They are great sculpts these from Brutefun. Mooning, cigar smoking, snot blowing shady characters.
Thrower and goblins
I never actually drafted a thrower, I had a blitzer with sure hands. And I was keen to maintain armour 10+. I did draft the occasional goblin for fouling (sucessful) and one turn threat (unsuccessful).
The troll
Jury is still out on the troll. It does bloat TV, but the one turn threat is nice and , once skilled, he’s just a lump with guard that is hard to deal with. On balance he was ok, though in the early seasons he was a total liability. Never blitz with a troll or indeed rely on it for any important plays. That green spike is a green stuff repair. I seem to drop my miniatures a lot. Need to paint it red.
Support staff and extra players
I didn’t get round to properly basing all the players. On the to do list. They started off with yellow skin. Controvertial in a genre dominated by pure greenskin orcs. I did eventually wash some green over them and uite liked the result.
The chef dude is the apothecary. There’s some great cheerleaders and a few more line orcs and goblins.
The dugout
As part of getting my own 3D printer, I was on the prowl for more stuff to print. Here I printed everything apart from the textured ground. That included printing the tent, which I love as the casualty medical tent.
Typically, I’ve not used this in it’s ‘as-finished-as-it’s-ever-going-to-get’ state as it is a bit of a bitch to transport.
I have amazon, dwarf, tombkings and undead dugouts in various stages of being printed and assembled. Might need another list for them.
